Who we are
StayInSerbia.com ("we", "us") is an independent online guide for foreigners moving to Serbia. We are an information website — not a law firm — and the content is general guidance, not legal advice. We may point readers to independent professionals (such as the lawyer featured on our Marko Majkić page) who handle legal matters directly with you.
What data we collect
We keep data collection to a minimum. We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email, or payment details on this website.
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used. Through it, we collect anonymised, aggregated information such as:
- Pages you visit and how long you stay
- Approximate location (typically country and city), derived from your IP address
- Device, browser and operating system type
- How you arrived at the site (e.g. a search engine or a link)
- Anonymous interaction events — for example, clicking a button to reveal a contact detail
This data is not used to personally identify you.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies on your device to measure usage. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, and you can opt out of Google Analytics entirely using Google's browser opt-out add-on. Blocking these cookies will not stop you from using the site.
Why we collect it
Only to understand which guides are useful and to improve the content. We do not sell your data, and we do not run advertising networks on this site.
Third parties
- Google Analytics — processes the usage data described above. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Outbound links — when you click through to WhatsApp, Viber, Telegram, email, or any external website (including the lawyer we feature), you leave StayInSerbia.com and that service's own privacy policy applies.
Data retention
Aggregated analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics settings (by default, up to 14 months), after which it is automatically deleted.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU's GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data, and to object to processing. Because we collect only anonymised analytics and no account data, we typically hold nothing that identifies you individually. You can exercise the strongest control directly via your browser and the Google opt-out linked above.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves. The "last updated" date above reflects the latest version.
